In essence, travel photography is photography that documents a specific area of landscape and culture unique to one’s destination.
When traveling, the aim is to pack light –or at least as light as possible– in order to be as efficient and flexible as possible. Still, while there are countless items you can purchase that have been made with travel photography in mind, the amount of money spent will likely supersede your actual need for the item(s).
Travel Photographer, Brendan von Son, shares a few of his “hacks” for having everything you need for travel photography without spending an excessive amount of camera gear to get you through your travels. These items include macro extension tubes, a Canon 2x extender, and the beloved tripod and monopod (like the platypod our March winners received!).
